Privacy Policy
Dog Park is a focus app. We collect the minimum needed to make the app work and nothing else. No analytics. No ad tracking. No third-party data brokers.
What we collect
The app stores most data locally on your device. The exceptions are limited to features that need a server:
- Sign in with Apple โ if you use Dog Park Rooms (parking with friends), Apple gives us a stable anonymous user ID and (optionally) an email relay address. We don't see your real Apple ID.
- Rooms data โ when you join a shared park (Connect), your dog's name, breed, park status, and the tricks it performs are written to our backend so room participants can see each other's dogs and react in real time. This is deleted when you leave the room.
- Support email โ if you email us for support, we keep your message and address only as long as needed to help you, then delete it. We don't add you to any marketing list.
- Device data on your phone only โ your dog's parametric seed, park sessions, streaks, items, and stats live in your local SwiftData store. They never leave the device unless you join a room.
What we don't collect
- No analytics. No usage tracking. No event funnels.
- No advertising IDs. No fingerprinting. No third-party trackers.
- No location, contacts, photos, or health data.
- No social graph beyond consent-based room participation.
Who can see your data
- You. All local data, always.
- Other participants in a Room you join โ your dog's name, breed, park status, and the tricks it performs. Not your identity.
- Google Firebase, our backend provider, processes Rooms data on our behalf. Firebase's data handling is governed by Google's terms; we do not use any Firebase Analytics or Firebase Ads features.
- Apple processes Sign in with Apple. Apple does not share your real identity with us.
Screen Time & "Focus Fence" (optional)
The app includes an optional, opt-in feature called Focus Fence that uses Apple's Screen Time APIs (Family Controls and Managed Settings). When you turn it on for a focus session, it shields your own distracting apps on your own device for the length of that session, to help you stay off your phone.
- It uses individual (self) authorization only. It never monitors, manages, or reports on anyone else's device or activity, and it is not a parental-control or device-management feature.
- iOS gives the app only opaque tokens for the apps you choose to keep available. We never learn which specific apps you shield, and we store nothing about them โ your selection stays on your device.
- No Screen Time data is collected, transmitted, shared, or sold. Nothing about your app usage leaves your device. It is fully reversible: emergency calls always work, and you can end the session or turn the feature off at any time.
In-app purchases
If you buy gold packs through the in-app store, Apple processes the transaction. We receive a verification of purchase but never see your payment method, card details, or billing address. Apple's privacy policy covers that transaction.
Children
Dog Park is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 beyond what's necessary for the app to function (Apple-anonymized sign-in and room participation). If you believe a child's data has been collected in error, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings โ Sign Out โ Delete Account). This removes your Firebase Auth record and any associated room participation data. Local data on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.
If you've emailed us for support, you can request deletion of that correspondence by emailing us.
Security
Data in transit uses TLS. Data at rest in Firestore is encrypted by Google. The local SwiftData store on your device is encrypted by iOS when the device is locked.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we'll update the date at the bottom. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept it.
